Elections are always important

This article has been read 388 times.

This spring, voter turnout was very low. It was an off-year election and to many, unimportant. If fact, local government affects our lives on a more personal level.

School directors are responsible for educating our children and are directly responsible for school taxes. Our township supervisors affect the services we receive from township roads, streetlights, water and sewage, to the ordinances that affect every one of us, as well as our township taxes.

Don't let a very few decide who gets elected. In fact, sometimes it is those who don't vote who decide an election. Don't let the weather stop you from voting; there is never a long line, nor do you have to stand outside. It is neither cold nor wet inside where you vote.

So please get out there and vote, even if you don't like either candidate, vote for the lesser of the two evils, but make your vote count.

AMEN Sandra !!! It is always those that do not vote that complain the most about someone the most. We need many changes throught this country starting with the local elections, through 2010 and then 2012 !!!
