Why language choice?
I believe this is such a waste of time and money. I could understand if we were calling another country, but this is the U.S.
If the companies are going to do that, then where is push 2 for Italian or 3 for Polish, etc.?
Please, if there is a good explanation, I would love to hear it.

I guess that Americans are the minority. We are very diverse, & it isn't mandatory that we in America, must all speak American. Besides, since all our manufacturing base has relocated out of the country, your call is probably going elseware, & not in America.

Americanized English is our country's language and those who come here legally seek to learn it. Predominantly, only those who are here illegally have a problem and don't seem to care to learn our language.

What is worse is when you call a State Government office and you get the dail for for English, 2 for Spanish, When English is the language of the Country, I want to hear a relply to that . Some Companies have a great deal of foreign business, The State of PA does not

I wouldn't mind hearing "Thanks for calling. Press 1 for English. Press 2 to disconnect because you can't speak English. Have a good day!"
Seems like a good idea to me : 11/8/2009
We have a lot of people here who only speak Spanish, but who are paying taxes and deserve services too. The automated system can do it at a low cost, compared to the alternatives. Just common sense.

i'm glad you are not lazy... those folks you refer to obviously are lazy, they refuse to learn the language.
