Attorney arraigned on theft charges

This article has been read 2136 times.

An attorney who practiced family law in Washington County was arraigned Wednesday on theft charges for allegedly taking money from clients and failing to do any work on their cases.

Gary Bilotta, 48, who has addresses in Pleasant Hills and Butler, was charged in private criminal complaints filed by five former clients. Several of the clients said they tried to call him but he did not return their calls.

Erica Potellini of Colliers, W.Va., Marsha McCue of Washington and Laraine Perko of Washington all gave him money to work on their respective divorces, but he never filed the paperwork, according to their complaints. Stacey Davis of Daisytown gave him money to handle a child custody case. Kathryn Appleton of Eighty Four gave him money to start an adoption proceeding.

Several of the clients contacted the law firm of Lois Glanby and were told he was no longer associated with the firm. They also were told that there were no records of them being clients in Glanby's computer records.

One down... some more to go. There are others out there in Washington County that have done more than this, but no charges have been filed yet. Hopefully the DA is working on them as well.

I am surprised you even was able to speak to her. When we were clients of hers she drug the case out so long thestatute of limitations expired and we lost out big time. She wouldn't even return calls to you. She goes through partners like kids go through candy.Every time you do get in touch with her she has a new person working you case.

FRE on UNSECURED BOND? : 10/18/2009
How does one get a Magistrate to let him go free, pending court, on an unsecured bond, AFTER being charged with allegedly ripping off clients? I want his attorney and those connections, should I ever be charged with a crime!

Polictical Facto

Why doesn't the DA contact the Allegheny Bar Association and see how many complaints have been filed against this woman.

Bar Association : 10/19/2009
Why doesn't the Bar Association get involved and finally put this woman out of business.

A Victim

How about the other Associate that was arrested for passing drugs to inmate. Enough is enough put this firm out of business before more people get hurt.
