Three people, including a McDonald woman, were arrested Friday on drug charges by borough police.

Charged were Michelle Lynn Ghelarducci, 27, of 103 Railroad St.; Eric Todd Pearce, 35, of Pittsburgh; and Ronnie E. Dzubinski Jr., 39, of 237 Maple Ave., Oakdale.

A member of the state police vice unit told McDonald police Officer William Nimal that he received information from a confidential informant that Ghelarducci has been receiving pharmaceuticals through the mail for the last several months. The informant indicated the parcels were coming from Florida and California.

A U.S. postal inspector contacted the supervisor of the post office in McDonald on Oct. 6 about Express Mail parcels sent to Ghelarducci's home. After reviewing records, it was determined she had received five packages since June. The return addresses were from either Port Charlotte or Sarasota, Fla.

The inspector learned that she was to receive another parcel from Sarasota. The postal inspector executed a search warrant on the package Friday and found 67, 30 mg Oxycodone pills inside.

The package was delivered to Ghelarducci, who signed for it. Police then served a warrant on Ghelarducci, taking her into custody.

During an interview by the postal inspector, authorities said she admitted to knowing the parcel contained the pills. She told investigators that she was going to sell the pills to Pearce for $15 a pill.

Ghelarducci agreed to cooperate and set up a controlled buy with Pearce. The two met at a Bridgeville restaurant, where he reportedly bought 10 pills for $225. Both were taken into custody.

Ghelarducci told investigators she may be able to sell pills to a person she sells to on a regular basis. He told her he was unable to purchase pills, but said a man identified as "Ski" was looking for some.

A meeting was set up in the parking lot of the McDonald trail station. Dzubinski went to her car and handed Ghelarducci $150 for 10 pills, police said. The two were then taken into custody.

All three were arraigned before District Judge David Mark. Pearce is charged with possession and possession of paraphernalia and criminal conspiracy. Dzubinski is charged with possession, possession with intent to deliver and possession of paraphernalia and conspiracy. Pearce and Dzubinski were placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond. Ghelarducci is charged with possession, possession with intent to deliver and criminal conspiracy. She was released on $25,000 unsecured bond. They are scheduled for a preliminary hearing Thursday before District Judge Valarie Costanzo.

All this effort for 67 pills? There must be hundreds of people doing this. What a waste of time and tax payer money. I'm glad to see all the murders, rapes, kid napping and other serious crimes have been solved.

Just maybe the one that was taking the pills could have been driving & killed one of your Family, you'd have a differant outlook I'm sure. I'm glad when any one involved with drugs gets caught & perhaps get a wake up call. Keep up the good work there task force One big high five to all of you

Actually, it was just 67 pills that were found at that time. There had been 5 delieveries made all together, with each delivery containg pills. And it seems to me that alot of murders, are due to a drug deal gone bad. So I'm glad to see them tossed in jail where they belong!!!

Happy citizen

Ridiculous : 10/20/2009
The remarks saying this was a waste of time must be by low-level druggies who think that letting this go doesn't matter. It does. What do you think these peope would do next if they get away with it. Where do you think they get the drug money? Are there a lot of rapes, kidnapping and murders in McDonald? Haven't heard about those. But, there will be if drugs are allowed to move in and stay.

Tired of the absurd

Crazy : 10/20/2009
I agree, if you think these people should not have got in any trouble, you must also be a low-level druggie.

Arrest all criminals

Re Ridiculous : 10/20/2009
No there aren't a lot of rapes, kidnapping, and murder in McDonald, but there are and always have been a hell of a lot of drugs. It's hardly something new, but it may be one of the FEW times I've actually seen the police do something about it.

I can't believe there are people here who think believe this was an efficent use of law enforcement resources. Nothing like fixing a hangnail when you have a broken leg

informant : 10/20/2009
The article couldn't be more clear in stating how this girl turned informant to save her own skin and set up her associates for a bust. No beatings/rapes/murders in McDonald? Not anymore. Seriously, if we want these drugs off of the street, we as a society can not have the informant activities blatantly published. I am not defending a drug dealer and have no sympathy, but remember, the feds couldn't crack the Mafia until witness protection let the informants testify in relative safety. This was truly reckless reporting to detail the set up process. This woman has a legitimate fear for her safety.

Perplexed

WOW : 10/20/2009
The OR should really eliminate the comments section, because anyone from outside the area would be appalled at residents complaining about police officers busting drug dealers.

Any arrest no matter how small is not a waste of time. People must be made to understand obey the law!!

Congrats : 10/26/2009
I'm a McDonald resident and I'm glad this arrest was made. Please keep up the good efforts. Hopefully this arrest will have a ripple effect.
