Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges.

Appearing before Judge John DiSalle were:

Chad A. Stepp, 31, of 201 Castile Ridge Road, Marianna; three counts of retail theft; charged for stealing an ice cream cake from the Dairy Queen in Centerville on Feb. 24 and June 14, and for stealing $700 worth of items from Wal-Mart in South Strabane Township on Sept. 10; sentence - 2 to 23 months in jail.

Nicole D. Johnston, 21, of 68 Violet St., Lowber; theft, three counts of forgery; charged for cashing stolen checks from $3,500 at Charleroi Federal Savings and Loan in Charleroi on Dec. 30; sentence - Intermediate Punishment Program for 23 months with the first 3 months on intensive supervision.

Anthony R. Patitucci, 25, of 235 W. Chestnut St., Apt. 801, Washington; second driving-under-the-influence offense; charged March 24 following a traffic stop on Route 40 in North Bethlehem Township with a 0.127 percent blood-alcohol content; sentence - 60 days to 6 months in jail with the minimum sentenced served on electronic home monitoring, $750 fine, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver's license suspension.

Joseph Turko, 24, of 662 Dow Ave., Carnegie; possession of marijuana; charged March 31 at 3240 Millers Run Road, Cecil; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Carlo A. Williams, 20, of 144 Greenbriar Drive, Pittsburgh; possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Jan. 10 following a traffic stop on Noblestown Road in McDonald; sentence - Probation Without Verdict for 12 months.

Eric A. Luba, 43, of 205 S-Spring Valley Road, Canonsburg; second DUI offense; charged Dec. 13 following a traffic stop on South Central Avenue in Canonsburg, refusing BAC testing; sentence - 90 days to 18 months in jail, $1,500 fine, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver's license suspension.

Toni Presslitz, 52, of Roscoe; possession of Valium; charged July 27 at the Adams House in Charleroi; sentence - Probation Without Verdict program for 12 months.

Deward Sims III, 67, of 505 Elm St. Ext., Canonsburg; second DUI offense; charged April 13 following a traffic stop on Interstate 79 in North Strabane Township with a 0.133 percent BAC; sentence - 60 days to 6 months in jail with the minimum sentence served on electronic home monitoring, $750 fine, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver's license suspension.

Jeffrey L. Smith, 53, of 760 Edgewater Drive, West Mifflin; retail theft; charged for stealing $120 worth of items from FYE in North Franklin Township on June 14; sentence - 23 months of probation.

Jeffrey A. Wehrle Jr., 24, of 632A Millers Run Road, Cuddy; possession of marijuana; charged July 12 in the parking lot of the Foundry in South Strabane Township; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Lucky J. Ross, 33, of 409 Railroad St., Stockdale; simple assault; charged Aug. 7 for assaulting a man at 108 Wayne St., Roscoe; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Ryan J. Oreshan, 48, of 27 Thistle Drive, Ballston, N.Y.; possession of Oxycontin; charged June 18 at the P-G Pavilion in Hanover Township; sentence - Probation Without Verdict program for 12 months.

Edwin L. Davis, 20, of 350 Duncan Ave., Washington; retail theft; charged Dec. 19 for stealing $150 worth of items from Wal-Mart in South Strabane Township; sentence - Intermediate Punishment Program for 18 months with the first 3 months on intensive supervision.

One person was admitted to the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition program for first-time offenders. If he successfully completes the program, he can petition the court to have his record expunged.

Neil A. Gianni, 46, of 1803 Tragone Drive, Pittsburgh, was admitted for 12 months for a first DUI offense. He was charged March 29 following a traffic stop on Johns Avenue in McDonald.

Appearing before Judge Janet Moschetta Bell were:

Aaron Dates, 36, of 1090 Arch St., Apt. 2, Washington; simple assault; charged Jan. 27, 2008, at his home for assaulting a woman; sentence - 2 to 23 months in jail.

Joel M. Hatfield, 27, of 1133 Eagle Point Drive, Canonsburg; two counts possession of marijuana; charged Dec. 13, 2006, at VIP Room in Washington, and on Jan. 4, 2007, fin the parking lot Jay's Sports Bar in Cecil; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Four people were admitted to the ARD program.

Edward T. Sitarik, 37, of 103 Sandlewood Drive, McDonald, was admitted for 12 months for a first DUI offense. He was charged Jan. 13 following a vehicle accident on Ridgewood Drive in Cecil.

Stephanie A. Schuette, 20, of 15713 Mahogany Circle, Apt. 406, Gaithersburg, Md., was admitted for 12 months for a first DUI offense. She was charged April 5 following a traffic stop on East Chestnut Street in East Washington.

James E. Sweeney, 74, of 227 Gilkeson Road, Eighty Four, was admitted for 12 months for a first DUI offense. He was charged May 10 following a one-vehicle accident on Waterdam Road in McMurray.

John Schilkin IV, 34, of 204 S. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg, was admitted for 24 months for interception of communications. He was charged for recording a woman's conversation without her permission at his home between March 2008 and November 2008.

Appearing before Judge Paul Pozonsky were:

Bobbi Jo Smith, 29, no known address; criminal conspiracy, two counts of theft; charged for stealing checks and $80 in items from 418 Hickory St., Richeyville, and then trying to cash the stolen checks at the National City Bank in South Strabane Township between June 20 and July 25; sentence - 1 to 3 years in prison followed by 2 years of probation.

Judith A. Morris, 44, of 243 E. College St., Apt. 8, Canonsburg; retail theft; charged July 24 for stealing $390 worth of items from Gabe's in South Strabane Township; sentence - 12 months of probation.

Patrick J. McCarter, 30, of 370 Woodbridge Drive, Washington; second DUI offense; charged March 25 following a traffic stop on Cleveland Avenue in North Franklin Township with a 0.185 percent BAC; sentence - 30 days to 6 months in jail, $750 fine, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver's license suspension.
