A West Finley Township man was arrested Friday by state police after he allegedly fired a shot from a revolver at his son-in-law that afternoon.

Gerald M. Parson, 57, of 188 Stollar Road, Claysville, is accused of shooting at Michael Wyland following an argument at their home.

Wyland told state police that he was arguing with his father-in-law about Parson reportedly not helping with the household bills and always being intoxicated.

Wyland went into his bedroom to get away from his father-in-law. Parson reportedly followed him into the bedroom. He then pointed a .22-caliber revolver at Wyland's head and said he was going to kill him, police said.

Wyland told police that after he turned away, he heard a gun go off. Parson fled from the home after Wyland told him that he was calling police.

Amanda Parson, who police did not identify further, told police that she heard the two men arguing and then heard a shot. Police found a bullet hole in the floor of the trailer.

Gerald Parson was found later that day by state police and taken into custody. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, making terroristic threats and reckless endangerment. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing is set for Monday before Ward.
