Swine flu reported at Burgettstown High School

By the Observer-Reporter

This article has been read 605 times.

Burgettstown Middle/High School has four confirmed cases of the H1N1, or swine flu.

The school has seen a higher-than-normal number of absences recently, said Superintendent Debbie Jackson.

She said as students get sick, they are sent to the nurse. If they have a fever, they are sent home. Jackson said she sent another letter home earlier this week reminding parents about flu prevention tips, including keeping children home if they have a fever, regular hand-washing and sneezing into your elbow.

Jackson said the district is sanitizing desks, keyboards and buses to prevent more cases.
