Two men accused of robbing a Washington man at gunpoint inside his home last month were arraigned Thursday on charges of robbery and criminal conspiracy.

David Lee Campbell, 20, of 347 E. Pike St., Houston, and Chancy A. Roilton, 18, of Pittsburgh, are accused of robbing James Pearson inside his home at 609 Maryland Ave. on Oct. 18.

Pearson told Washington police that two masked men armed with handguns entered his home, ordered him to lie face-down on his bed and demanded money.

One of the men struck Pearson on the head with the weapon and told his accomplice to take Pearson's belongings. Pearson told police the men left with his iPod, cellular telephone and $45.

A short time after the robbery, Ashley Martin of Washington tried to call Pearson on his cell phone. She told police that another man answered the phone and she recognized the voice as someone she had met earlier that night.

The man who answered the phone told Martin to "get your boy."

City police Detective Jack Hancock spoke with a third suspect, who claimed that he was at a party with Campbell and Roilton. He told police that Campbell and Roilton allegedly contacted Pearson in an attempt to purchase marijuana. The sale was not made because an agreement could not be reached on the price, he said.

The third suspect told police that Campbell and Roilton left the party. When they returned, the two reportedly had marijuana along with Pearson's iPod. They also allegedly bragged about robbing Pearson.

Campbell and Roilton admitted to Hancock that they entered Pearson's home wearing masks and carrying fake guns.

They said the third suspect called Pearson to make sure he would be home. That suspect also allegedly gave the two the layout of Pearson's apartment. The two also told Hancock that the other suspect told them that Pearson regularly left the door unlocked.

The third suspect reportedly made arrangements for them to get a ride to Pearson's home and was in the car with the driver waiting for Campbell and Roilton.

Both men were arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and each released on $10,000 unsecured bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday in Central Court.

Police obtained a warrant for the third suspect, who is expected to turn himself in for arraignment.
