Attempted robbery reported at local store
This article has been read 1779 times.
State police in Waynesburg are investigating an attempted robbery at the 7-eleven on High St., Waynesburg, Franklin Township. Police said the suspect entered the store around 12:40 a.m. wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and his face was covered. The clerk was in the back when the suspect entered the front of the store. The clerk secured a door blocking access to the cash register. The suspect tried to force open the door to the back and the cash register but was unsuccessful at either attempt before fleeing.
The suspect is believed to be 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall, thin and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and what appeared to be a blue bandana with a dark knit cap.
State police are also investigating a robbery at the same location that occurred earlier this month when a man walked into the store brandishing a small-caliber pistol and demanded money.
