Suspect sought in city gunplay
Washington police are looking for Percy Lee Dudley Jr., 23. Sgt. David Bradley said they have a detainer from the adult probation office on Dudley and the warrant will be filed with a district judge on Monday, charging him with reckless endangerment and carrying a firearm without a license.
According to Bradley, Dudley was inside Isabella's, formerly Cabaret West at 716 W. Chestnut St., when he apparently got into an argument with one or more people near the pool table and pulled out a gun, possibly to intimidate those he was arguing with.
Bradley said Dudley aimed the gun at the floor and fired it before running outside. Dudley shot twice more into the air before leaving the area in a gold car.

Catherine Bayus, the owner of Isabella's, expressed frustration Saturday that her business was again being singled out and pointed her finger at the man's probation officer and police.
"This guy just got out of jail and the city of Washington is letting him walk around the city with guns in his pocket," she said. "I'm the victim, and they're not doing the job of getting the guns off the street."
In February, two men died after being shot outside the bar, causing officials to close it temporarily. District Attorney Steven M. Toprani attempted to have the bar declared a nuisance and shut down permanently but Washington County Judge Paul Pozonsky allowed the tavern to reopen under certain conditions.
Bayus said the tavern is open 4 p.m. to midnight. She no longer has a disc jockey or live bands and has lost business.
"I had a whole 10 people in my bar and more than half of them were eating food," she said of Friday's business.
But Bradley questioned why a metal detecting wand was not used on patrons entering the tavern and said it was fortunate there were no injuries.
"The way that bullet fragmented I'm surprised no one got hurt," he said.
He is asking anyone with knowledge of Dudley's whereabouts to contact 911.

where was your security and metal detector that she was supposed to have in place. this bar was shut down once already. she is not doing her part of keeping her partrons safe while in her establishment.she shoild be shut down again.it doesnt matter if u have 10 to 100 people in the establishment all it takes is one person to do harm.
Shut it down : 11/1/2009
shut that place down. It is obvious that they cant keep the bad apples out of there. I love how she points out that half of the patrons were eating food,... hungry people don't carry guns?
Isabella's Shooting : 11/1/2009
I can't believe this bar is still open. Here we go again. Maybe three(3) will be shot this time. The owner cannot hide behing "It's not my fault" anymore.
Shut it down! : 11/1/2009
This is a bad news bar and it's time to close it permanently before someone else gets killed.
Agree/Disagree : 11/2/2009
Yes, this bar has been the target of crime in the past I agree, put the owner cannot mold or change the world. If these individuals would act like adults then none of these things would occur. She cant make people do right, she is just trying to run her business. People need to take responsibility for their own actions and stop looking so quickly to point the finger at someone else.

It doesn't seem to matter who owns this bar. The same trash seems to be frequenting it. Shut this place down! How many more people have to be killed?
paul pozonsky : 11/2/2009
this great judge is to blame. the DA tried to shut it down, but the judge bucked him
Not her fault! : 11/2/2009
Cathy is a hard working woman and she is right, "It's not her fault"! This a grown folks establishment and they should act that way. She can control what is served, how cold the drinks are, and how the hot the food when it's served. But she can't control what is on every patron's mind!!! Be real!!!

"This guy just got out of jail and the city of Washington is letting him walk around the city with guns in his pocket," she said. "I'm the victim, and they're not doing the job of getting the guns off the street." I'm sure if his PO or the police knew he was walking around w/a gun they'd have taken care of it. Get a life lady! Ever since Carl Monsour took it over, then you it has really gone down hill.
OPEN ;11/2/2009 : 11/2/2009
LET'S keep it open that whey we will know where to go for the bad people .
Shut it Down : 11/2/2009
It's time for Judge Pozonsky to show Washington County that he means business and not empty threats. It was reported that he would let the bar stay open under certain conditions and it seems to me that they failed to meet those conditions. Another shooting? What is he waiting for, a triple homicide? Come on Judge - SHUT IT DOWN. Show the county that you're a man of your word.
THE WORLD IS CHANGING : 11/2/2009
anybody can get a gun now in days. no matter where u r at someone is likely to be close to u carrying a gun and u dont know it. so its not just the bars or owners its the environment and parenting of these young children
for real : 11/3/2009
r u for real its not her fault.where was her security at? where was the metal detector at? those are things she is suppose to have now to protect her establishment and her patrons. obviously she doesnt care about her business or customers if she is not worried about protecting them.
Isabella's : 11/12/2009
Oh, Cathy, cry me a river! You had that bad element coming to that dive ever since you took it over. As long as you were making money you didn't care what went on inside. You made your bed so lay in it. I hope the judge wakes up and shuts it down. After those two murders there, it's a graveyard. It will always be trouble. Trash breeds trash, birds of a feather stick together. Cathy brought that element with her. You be the judge.
