Black History month
The Story of Black History is a series designed to teach young readers about the basic history of African Americans in the United States. More than 500 years ago, black people were taken from their homelands and brought to America. This story gives students an insight into that experience and into life as a slave. It also teaches about the Civil War and encourages them to think about how life has changed for African Americans since the time of the Civil War and then since the 1960s.
