The Local Share Committee of Washington County on Wednesday released to Washington County commissioners its recommended list of 28 projects to be funded from slots revenue from The Meadows Racetrack & Casino.

The recommendations were made following two days of public hearings Jan. 25 and 26 on 71 project requests in categories that include community improvement, economic development, job training and public interest.

Commissioners are expected to approve the list of recommended projects on Thursday.

LSA committee chairman Jeff Kotula said the committee had $7.6 million from The Meadows to disburse across the projects, which are leveraged by a total of $28 million in funding from private and public sources.
