AMWELL TOWNSHIP

Assault arrest: Damien McIntyre, 30, of 11 Ankrom Road, Amwell, was arrested by state police just after midnight after he allegedly assaulted two people, including his grandmother.

McIntyre is accused of pushing his grandmother, Cyndi Sirabella, to the ground. She broke her wrist. He also is accused of knocking the head of Norman Cimino into a porch post.

Sirabella told police McIntyre became intoxicated and passed out near a campfire before the confrontation. He also allegedly struck Kodi Ackley when she tried to intervene.

McIntyre was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on two counts of simple assault and three counts of harassment. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.

BURGETTSTOWN

Car struck: An unknown driver struck the rear of a car parked in front of 145 Center Ave. about 4:45 p.m. Sunday, police said. The driver fled.

CANONSBURG

Man charged: William "Junebug" Yarbrough Jr., 39, of 534 S. Central Ave., Canonsburg, faces charges of simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief for allegedly breaking the cellular telephone of Dana McAnany, 38, of 150 W. Pike St., Saturday. He is also accused of choking her, Canonsburg police said. Yarbrough was gone before police arrived.

Break-in attempt: Mary Iskey of 111 Valley View Terrace told Canonsburg police that a man tried to force his way into her apartment Friday, damaging the screen door.

GPS stolen: Michael Pirnik of 710 Valeria Drive told Canonsburg police that his Cobra global positioning unit was stolen from his unlocked pickup truck Friday.

Phone stolen: Timothy Woodhouse of 610 S. Central Ave. told Canonsburg police Friday that his daughter's cellular telephone was stolen and $1,175 in calls were made on it.

CECIL TOWNSHIP

Two-vehicle crash: Police said Sarah Cherpak, 31, of Washington, was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash about 3 a.m. Monday on Interstate 79 northbound just north of the Southpointe exit, Cecil.

State police said she struck a vehicle driven by Maureen Buck, 47, of Clarington, Ohio, as she passed it. Cherpak's vehicle then spun around before flipping on to its roof.

Cherpak was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Buck and a passenger, Wesley Buck, 51, also of Clarington, were taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment.

FALLOWFIELD TOWNSHIP

Faces charges: Justin H. Caldwell, 26, of Charleroi, was charged Monday by Fallowfield police with recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving and disorderly conduct stemming from a July 31 incident on 13th Street.

Police said Caldwell was allegedly firing shots with a rifle, endangering three people riding all-terrain vehicles in the area.

Police also charged Donald Martin, 30, of Charleroi, with disorderly conduct.

Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.

Theft charge: Arthur Anthony Gillion III, 29, of 15 Miner St., Bentleyville, was charged Monday by Fallowfield police with theft of services. He is accused of stealing water from the Borough of Charleroi Water Authority.

Police said Gillion had his water turned off at least four times between May 19 and Oct. 22. He allegedly would restore service by tampering with the curb box in front of his home.

The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.

Quad found: Fallowfield police recovered a stolen 2008 Yamaha YZF450 quadrunner Wednesday from the parking lot of Charleroi High School.

A suspect, who is known to police, was seen on the vehicle before it broke down. The quad had been reported stolen to Charleroi police Thursday.

NORTH FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP

Assault arrest: Andrew Herron, 22, of 121 Baltimore Ave., was arrested Sunday morning by North Franklin police for allegedly assaulting his mother, Julie Herron, during a confrontation at their home.

Herron barricaded himself in his room, police said. Township police, assisted by Washington police, had to force open the door. Herron reportedly fought and kicked at the officers. Police used a Taser to subdue him.

Herron was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of simple assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $3,000 bond.

Hit-run charges: Dana L. Matyjasek, 35, of 850 S Bridge Road, Prosperity, faces a number of charges stemming from a hit-and-run crash early Tuesday on West Chestnut Street in the construction area.

She will be charged with leaving the scene of a crash, careless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road and other charges. North Franklin police said she hit a vehicle driven by John Cowan, 73, of 236 Lincoln Terrace, Washington.

When found at her home, she denied being involved in the crash, but police found fresh damage on her vehicle.

NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP

Drugs stolen: North Strabane police are investigating the theft of narcotic drugs from two crash carts in one of the emergency rooms at Canonsburg General Hospital. The carts, one for a pediatric patient and the other for an adult, were in the same room. The theft was discovered Saturday by hospital staff.

Driver injured: Ronald Lyle III, 30, of 711 Woodlawn Drive, Houston, was injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on Route 519 at the ramp from Interstate 79.

North Strabane police said a car driven by Harold Bauer, 78, of Zephyr Hills, Fla., pulled from the ramp into the path of Lyle's northbound vehicle. Lyle was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment.

SMITH TOWNSHIP

Jailed in assault: Michael A. Yanek, 29, of Ellsworth, was arrested Sunday by Smith police after he allegedly hit Erica Andrews of Ellsworth in the face during a confrontation at the home of Tiffany Cikoic, 10 John St., Slovan. Yanek is accused of hitting Andrews' head off a car. Yanek also reportedly broke a window on Andrews' vehicle.

Yanek was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $2,500 bond.

SOUTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP

Theft arrest: Latoya Smith, 23, who is homeless, was arrested Sunday on a warrant stemming from theft charges filed in September by South Strabane police.

Smith is accused of stealing jewelry from Nichole Tretnik, 1623 Streator Ave., and selling a gold necklace with a charm on it at Pawnee Shop, Jefferson Avenue. Tretnik told police that Smith is a daughter of her live-in boyfriend. She caught Smith in her bedroom and discovered the theft of the necklace and other jewelry valued at $995, police said.

Smith was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and placed in Washington County Jail on $2,500 bond.

DUI charge: Ronald Huggins, 55, of 215 Alamae Lakes Road, South Franklin Township, will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol stemming from a one-vehicle crash Wednesday.

South Strabane police said Huggins told them he swerved to avoid a deer and hit a tree on Manifold Road near Panorama Drive. His blood-alcohol content was double the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication.

WASHINGTON

Assault charge: Andrew White, 38, of 448 N. Main St., faces a charge of simple assault for allegedly punching Lucille White, 47, in the face during a confrontation at their home, Washington police said Monday.

White was placed in Washington County Jail on a probation detainer.

Jamb broken: Elaine Crowe of 91 Maple Ave. told Washington police Friday that vandals broke a door jamb on a door at the rear of her home.

Assault charge: Robert Cox, 22, of 7661/2 Broad St., Washington, will be charged with simple assault for allegedly hitting Katelyn Shaner, 21, of 746 Broad, in the face and trying to strangle her Saturday, Washington police said.

He fled before police arrived.

Drug charges: Bernard Heckathorne, 33, of 136 Church St., Washington, faces drug charges after Washington police found him with several bags of suspected marijuana along with pills during a traffic stop Saturday in the 100 block of North Franklin Street.

DUI charge: Margarita Estrada, 33, no address available, faces a charge of DUI. Washington police said her BAC was 11/2 times the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication when her vehicle hit a curb on Jefferson Avenue early Saturday.

Theft charge: David Testa, 39, of Washington City Mission, was taken into custody after he allegedly stole nine packs of cigars from Shop 'n Save Saturday. Washington police learned he was wanted by police in Albemarle, Va. He also will be charged by Washington police with retail theft. Police placed him in Washington County Jail on the Virginia warrant.

Car recovered: Washington police found a brown Lincoln reported stolen in McKees Rocks Sunday after spotting it being driven near Hall and Jefferson avenues. Police followed the vehicle and the driver jumped out on North Main Street. The driver, a black man wearing black pants and a white top, jumped over two fences and ran across Burton Avenue.

Debit card stolen: A debit card owned by Kayla McCarter of 870 Duncan Ave. was reported stolen Sunday, Washington police said.

Window broken: Bonnie Russell of 680 Allison Ave. told Washington police that a brick was thrown through the window of her car Sunday.

Warrant issued: An arrest warrant has been issued for Andrew White, 38, of 448 N. Main St., for simple assault. Lucille White, of the same address, said White punched her in the face several times Friday about 6 p.m.

Man charged: Robert Cox, 22, of 766 1/2 Broad St., was taken to Washington County Jail and charged with simple assault. Katelyn Sherer, of the same address, told police that Cox struck her in the face and choked her Friday.

Drug charges: Bernard Heckathorn, 33, of 136 Church St., is being charged by summons with marijuana possession and identifying himself falsely to a police officer. Heckathorn's car was pulled over in the 100 block of North Franklin Street at 2:55 a.m. Saturday for a vehicle code violation. Heckathorn was found to have a small amount of marijuana, seven pills and $190. The marijuana and pills are being sent to the state crime lab.

Burglary arrest: Jonathan Amon, 21, of 490 S. Palm St., was arraigned Monday before District Justice Robert Redlinger on charges of burglary and theft by unlawful taking.

Amon is accused of entering the home of his father, Dennis Amon, of 1260 Wilna St., on Aug. 13 and stealing an Xbox 360 game console and a video game valued at $400. He then asked a friend to sell it to Game Stop at Washington Crown Center because he didn't have identification, police said. The console and game were recovered. Amon is being held in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.
