BURGETTSTOWN

Purse stolen: Carrie Lonick of 35 Highland Ave., Burgettstown, told state police Sunday that a thief reached through the rear door of her home and stole her black Coach purse containing $60 from a counter. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.

Theft from vehicle: Marie Youschak of 21 Hindman Road, Burgettstown, told state police Monday that her purse was stolen from her vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.

Credit card fraud: Carole Pankas of 117 Benton Drive told Canonsburg police Wednesday that the number of her credit card was stolen and used to make purchases on the Internet.

CHARTIERS TOWNSHIP

Struck by vehicle: Ronald Likar, 73, of Woodlawn Drive, Chartiers, was slightly injured Wednesday when he was struck by a neighbor's car.

Jesse Heil, 81, of Woodlawn Drive, told Chartiers police that he was backing down the incline of his drive. When he tried to hit the brake, his foot slipped. His car went across the road and hit Likar, who was using a vacuum leaf blower, and then a fence. Likar rolled over a hillside, police said. He refused treatment.

NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP

Two-vehicle crash: Carleen Yarkosky, 44, of 189 Ross Road, North Strabane, was slightly injured Tuesday night when her vehicle was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Peter Pacilla Jr., 59, of 1250 Linden Vue Drive, North Strabane.

North Strabane police said Yarkosky was driving south on Route 19 when she put on her turn signal and stopped to make a left turn on to Linden Road when she was hit by Pacilla's vehicle.

PETERS TOWNSHIP

Theft from car: A black cellular telephone was stolen from a car parked in the 100 block of Valley Brook Road along Arrowhead Trail before 3:25 p.m. Wednesday, township police said.

The owner told police he believed he had locked the car, but returned to find it unlocked. A trash bag inside the car was also rifled.

Vehicle rolls: A South Park woman and two young children were involved in a one-vehicle accident in the 800 block of Sugar Camp Road near Trax Farm at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, township police said.

Laura Danzuso, 27, of Riggs Road, was driving a sport utility vehicle when it struck a utility pole and rolled over, police said. She complained of an injury, but did not require medical transport, police said.

Passengers Nick Danzuso, 2, and Christian Danzuso, 7, both of Riggs Road, were properly restrained and were not injured, police said.

Drug charges: Jason Anthony, 24, of Mill St., Bridgeville, will be charged with violating the drug act, township police said.

Anthony was in a car on Carriage Hill Drive at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday when police smelled the odor of marijuana. He was found with empty blunts and rolling papers, police said. Exact charges to be filed will be determined.

SOMERSET TOWNSHIP

Two charged: Mary H. Suomela of 1558 Shrader Ave., Monessen, and Harry Taylor of 4 Salena St., Bentleyville, each face charges stemming from a confrontation Wednesday morning on Fern Street at Route 917, Somerset.

State police said the two allegedly got into a confrontation over parking on the road. Suomela is charged with harassment for punching Taylor's car window. Taylor is charged with criminal mischief for reportedly throwing a ceramic mug at the hood of Suomela's car, damaging it.

WASHINGTON

Burglary charge: A Washington man was charged Thursday with burglary and theft by Washington police. Edwin Layman Davis, 19, of 250 W. Hallam Ave., is charged with entering the home of Patty Wald, 350 Shirls Ave., through a kitchen window on Oct. 10. He allegedly stole a cigarette case containing $20 and credit cards and fled. Wald walked into the kitchen as Davis was coming through the window and was able to identify him to police. The charges will proceed by summons.

Heroin charge: Michael Thomas Sparks, 20, of 10 Elkie Drive, Canton Township, was charged Thursday with posession of heroin. Washington police said in an affidavit that Sparks was a passenger in a car that was stopped May 15 in the 1100 block of Jefferson Avenue. He had four bags of heroin in his shoe, police said. The charge will proceed by summons.

Marijuana charge: Terrance Lee, 44, of 173 Sunset Drive, Washington, faces charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and driving without a license filed Thursday by Washington police. His vehicle was stopped July 22 in the 10 block of Burton Avenue because there was a warrant for his arrest. Police said when they searched him, they found marijuana in his possession. The charges will proceed by summons.

Faces DUI charge: Emily J. Veres of 190 Canterbury Road, McMurray, faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after a multiple-vehicle crash at 12:40 p.m. Sunday on North Avenue, Washington police said. Details of the crash were not available. Police said an empty rum bottle and four small, empty wine bottles were found in the vehicle. She was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment and blood was drawn. Her blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.415 percent, more than five times the legal limit at which intoxication is presumed, police said.

Vandalism: Bruce Myers of 187 Jollick Manor reported to Washington police that his home was spray-painted between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Tires cut: Mike Hildebrand of 191 McClay Road, Washington, told Washington police that the driver's side tires on his vehicle were cut while it was parked in the 600 block of Glenn Street. The damage was reported at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Woman faces charge: Washington police said they will charge Marcie Jo McAdams, 30, of 51 Skyview Drive, Oakdale, with possessing a prohibited offensive weapon after a box cutter and a pushout knife concealed in a lipstick container were found in her purse when police stopped her at 3 a.m. Thursday at North Franklin and Walnut streets.
