CHARTIERS TOWNSHIP

Rock thrown: Kristin Harvey of McDonald told Chartiers police Tuesday that someone threw a rock at her vehicle, smashing the passenger-side window, while she was driving on Country Club Road.

Equipment damaged: Vandals damaged construction equipment owned by R.A. Monzo Construction, Latrobe, while it was parked off Meadowcroft Road by the railroad tracks near Cross Creek Road, state police said. Windows were smashed on two construction vehicles. A fire extinguisher was discharged into another construction vehicle. The damage was reported Monday.

FALLOWFIELD TOWNSHIP

Assault arrest: Jason W. Colbert, 31, of 229 Wilson Road, Fallowfield, was arrested Tuesday morning by Fallowfield police on charges of simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment after allegedly assaulting his live-in girlfriend, Melissa Pickford, 32, during a confrontation at their home.

Colbert is accused of choking her and threatening to kill her and burning the house down.

Colbert was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins and placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond.

Assisting were police from Carroll Township and Charleroi.

Two injured: Patricia Kerr, 20, of Monongahela, and her passenger, Stanley Cain, 19, of New Eagle, were injured in a one-vehicle crash Monday night on Bentley Road in the village of Van Voorhis, Fallowfield police said.

Kerr was driving a pickup truck south near the Van Voorhis post office when a deer jumped into her path. Her truck went off the road and hit a tree.

Kerr and Cain were taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Two-car crash: Two people were slightly injured in a two-car crash Monday on Gibson Road at the Interstate 70 west ramp, Fallowfield police said.

Police said a car driven by David M. Felix, 28, of Staten Island, N.Y., got off the interstate and made a wrong turn when he started backing onto Gibson. A car driven by Evonne M. Henderson, 31, of Dunlevy, was getting off the highway when Felix backed into her path.

Harassment charge: Chad A. Carson, 35, of 48 Gun Club Road, Fallowfield, will be charged with harassment by Fallowfield police after allegedly hitting Deborah Casson, 41, of 34 Brothers Road, Fallowfield, in the chest during a confrontation at her home Monday afternoon. The charge will be filed by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP

Mailbox smashed: Tammy Sue Reynolds of 1951 Avella Road, Independence, told state police Sunday that vandals smashed her mailbox and discharged a fire extinguisher in her unlocked vehicle.

JEFFERSON

Truck stolen: James Tedrow of Marianna told state police in Waynesburg that his silver 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was stolen from the rear lot of Jefferson Hotel, Franklin Street, Jefferson Borough, Greene County, Sunday afternoon. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call state police in Waynesburg at 724-627-6151.

NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP

DUI charge: Ryan C. Sharrow, 27, of Pittsburgh, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol stemming from a one-vehicle crash about 1 a.m. Saturday in front of 676 Waterdam Road, North Strabane police said.

Police said Sharrow's vehicle hit a tree. He was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital, where blood was drawn to determine his blood-alcohol content. He refused treatment for his injuries.

SOUTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP

Vehicle hits cow: Kathleen Kyle of Monongahela escaped injury Monday night when her vehicle hit a cow on Route 136. The bovine got loose from Eighty Four Auction. Her vehicle's hood and roof were damaged. The cow suffered a broken leg.

Arrested on detainer: Joseph Work, 48, of 921 Wayne St., Canton Township, was arrested on an Allegheny County detainer Tuesday when he tried to purchase a gun at Wal-Mart, Trinity Point, South Strabane police said.

WASHINGTON

Window broken: Washington police found a broken front window at the former Washington Tire Center, 87 W. Chestnut St., on Saturday.

Trespassers reported: Howard Moats of 387 W. Chestnut St. told Washington police that two teenagers climbed over a fence onto his property and jumped on his trucks Tuesday.

Computer stolen: Richard Reese of 686 N. Main St. told police that his computer was stolen from his home Tuesday.
