BENTLEYVILLE

Harassment charge: Tammy Lee Fernandez, 39, of Monessen, was charged by state police with harassment Wednesday after allegedly punching Beverly Joyce Szabo, 61, of New Eagle, in the face during a bingo game at Bentleyville Fire Hall, Bentleyville.

Assault charge: Edward Karol of Donora was charged with simple assault by state police after he allegedly punched Kelly Sefchik in the face during an argument at Bentleyville Apartments about 11:40 p.m. Saturday.

Two hours later, Joshua Gillingham of Bentleyville was charged with harassment by state police after he allegedly shoved Sefchik into a wall during an argument at the apartment complex.

Underage drinking: California police were called to a large party Wednesday night at Vulcan Village where a number of partygoers were under the age of 21 years and allegedly drinking alcoholic beverages.

Charged with underage drinking were Nicole L. Yinghins, 18, and Robert T. Bevington, 18, both of Beaver Falls; Nicholas C. Lechman, 19, of Effingham, Ill.; Steven A. Cardone, 19, of Harrisburg; Amanda M. Bono, 19, and Lindsay J. Hamm, 18, both of Pittsburgh; Matthew S. Babic, 18, of New Brighton; Shane A. Halle, 18, of Somerset; and Dalton M. Shaffer, 19, of Jennerstown.

CANONSBURG

DUI charge: Craig Beseman, 56, of 125 S. Main St., Houston, faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after he allegedly hit a construction barrier with his pickup truck about 11:25 a.m. Friday.

Canonsburg police were doing a traffic detail when they saw a pickup truck tailgating another vehicle. The truck, driven by Beseman, then hit the construction barrier, almost knocking it into a construction worker.

Mirror broken: Sandra Brady of 719 Giffin Ave. told Canonsburg police Sunday that vandals broke the driver's side mirror of her vehicle.

Medications stolen: Toni Dillard of 600 Duquesne Ave. told Canonsburg police Saturday that prescription medications were stolen from her home.

Two injured: Jaimie Luisi, 19, of 142 E. Pike St., Canonsburg, and John Eckert, no age or address available, were injured in a crash Saturday afternoon in front of 595 W. Pike St.

Canonsburg police said the vehicle driven by Luisi went off the road, hit two parked vehicles and came to rest on a concrete barrier. The two were taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

CANTON TOWNSHIP

Teen charged: A 16-year-old Washington boy was charged by state police with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass after he was caught inside Red Roof Motel, West Chestnut Street, early Sunday. Police were called by motel employees who reported juveniles running through the building.

The 16-year-old ran from police but was caught a short distance from the motel. He was released to his mother.

CHARLEROI

Assault arrest: Ricki Shawn Kelly, 36, of 1142 Lincoln Ave., Charleroi, was arrested Sunday by Charleroi police after he allegedly threw a wooden coffee table at Janet Diggs, knocking her to the floor, during a confrontation at their home.

Kelly was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was released on $7,500 unsecured bond.

CHARTIERS TOWNSHIP

Money stolen: Chartiers police said $150 and a book of checks were reported stolen Sunday from Angel Ridge, 390 Hickory Ridge Road.

Window broken: Tara Shinsky of 565 Galaxy Drive told Chartiers police Saturday that a bottle was thrown through the window of her home.

Two-vehicle crash: Jacquelyn Jellison, 12, of 1010 Allison Hollow Road, Chartiers, was slightly injured Friday night when a car driven by Sherri Jellison, also of 1010 Allison Hollow, and a pickup truck driven by Reed Bamberger, 37, of 257 Country Club Road, South Strabane Township, collided.

Chartiers police said Bamberger was traveling north on Racetrack Road and made a left turn into the path of Jellison's vehicle, which had been going south on Allison Hollow.

LONG BRANCH

Car hits guardrail: Matthew Shimkanin, 31, of California, was slightly injured Sunday morning when his car went off Dally road and hit a guardrail, which penetrated the inside of the car, state police said. He will be charged with careless driving.

MONONGAHELA

Theft charge: Paul Eric Battle Jr., 52, of Elizabeth, was arrested Friday by Monongahela police on charges of receiving stolen property and theft by deception.

Battle is accused of cashing in Pennsylvania Lottery tickets that had been reported stolen from a store in Elizabeth, Allegheny County, and cashed in at several businesses in Monongahela in July for more than $500. He told police he bought the tickets from a man named Brian for $150.

Battle was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and released on $10,000 unsecured bond.

Drug arrest: Thomas Stickel, 38, of 653 Fourth St., Monongahela, was arrested Monday following a joint investigation by Monongahela police and the Washington County District Attorney's Drug Task Force.

Stickel is accused of selling heroin to a confidential informant throughout the Monongahela area last month.

Stickel was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson on two counts each of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin and one count of criminal conspiracy. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $50,000 bond. Stickel is the 30th suspected drug dealer to be arrested in Monongahela this year.

Warrant arrest: Monongahela police obtained an arrest warrant Monday for Samuel Allen Terrant, 43, of 107 W. Main St., Monongahela.

Police were called to a disturbance Saturday night in the 100 block of 10th Street. They found Terrant with a small amount of suspected marijuana and a suspected crack pipe.

Charges were filed at the office of District Judge Mark Wilson.

MT. PLEASANT TOWNSHIP

Assault arrest: James D. Brezinski, 47, of 220 Eberle Road, Hickory, was arrested Sunday for allegedly assaulting his sister, Janice Lynn Brezinski, at her home at 224 Lynn Portal Road, Mt. Pleasant.

State police said he was angry about his pickup truck, and his sister tried to help him resolve the problem.

He became angry and reportedly grabbed her around the neck before returning to his home.

When police tried to take him into custody, he struggled with officers, who had to use a Taser.

He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, harassment and simple assault and placed in Washington County Jail on $20,000 percentage bond.

NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP

DUI charge: Colleen Brletich, 24, of Monessen, will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol stemming from a two-vehicle crash about 1 a.m. Saturday on Route 519 near Bruce Drive, North Strabane police said.

Brletich was driving south, and a tractor-trailer driven by Melissa Konzelman, 40, of Elyria, Ohio, was going north. Brletich crossed the center line and hit the rig. Neither driver was injured. Brletich's blood-alcohol content was more than double the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication.

Vandalism: Robert Hruby of 215 Stonegate Drive told North Strabane police Sunday that vandals used an object like a baseball bat to damage the lamppost outside his home.

SOUTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP

Employee arrested: Lynn Richardson was charged with theft after he allegedly stole $150 from the money bag at Burger King, Washington Pike, township police said.

The theft was reported Wednesday, and Richardson, 22, of Laurel Ridge Circle in the Hunting Ridge area, South Fayette, turned himself in on a warrant Saturday.

Richardson was arraigned in Allegheny County Night Court.

SOUTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP

Man arrested: Walter Raymond Parker, 56, of Pittsburgh's Carrick section, was arrested early Monday by South Strabane police on charges of criminal conspiracy, attempted theft and criminal trespass.

Police were called by a security guard at Tanger Outlets for a report of three men breaking into vending machines at the outlet. The guard caught two of them, but one ran before police arrived. The third fled in a vehicle.

Parker was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County Jail on $15,000 percentage bond.

Police from Chartiers and North Strabane townships assisted.

UNION TOWNSHIP

Truck hits pole: Noah Mikec, 24, of Finleyville, escaped injury Friday night when his pickup truck hit a utility pole when he attempted to turn from Route 837 to Elrama Avenue, Union, state police said.

Mikec will be charged with careless driving.

ATVs stolen: Four all-terrain vehicles were reported stolen Sunday morning from multiple storage units at Route 88 Hufnagel Storage, Route 88, Union, state police said.

WASHINGTON

Wallet gone: Robert Smay of Canonsburg told Washington police Friday that he left his wallet on a pump at GetGo, 104 E. Wylie Ave. When he returned, it was gone.

Tires flattened: Ashley Burd of 1296 Donnan Ave., told Washington police Friday that vandals flattened two tires on her vehicle.

Harassment charge: A 14-year-old Washington girl was charged by Washington police with harassment after allegedly pulling another girl's hair Wednesday at Washington High School. The victim's mother told police that the 14-year-old had been bullying her.

Man jailed: Wayne Cunningham, 41, of Washington, was placed in Washington County Jail on a probation detainer after Washington police were called for a harassment report from Cathy Hetrick, 520 Broad St., regarding Cunningham.

Assault reported: Arthur Kevin Garbart, 48, of 1256 Bruce St., told Washington police early Saturday that he was assaulted by two men who forced their way into his home.

One of the men, whom he knows, knocked at the door and wanted in. When Garbart would not allow him in, the other man hit him in the left eye with a handgun. Garbart said the other man then entered the home through the back door and put either his hands or an object on Garbart's throat.

Police said Garbart appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and changed his story several times.

Drug charge: Glenn Davis Jr., 19, of 290 Roosevelt St., North Franklin Township, faces a charge of possession of marijuana stemming from a traffic stop Sunday at Allison and Tyler avenues, Washington police said. His vehicle was impounded.

Assault charge: Amanda Hawkins, 18, of 348 Houston, St., Washington, faces charge of simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief for allegedly punching Ashley Ferri of California in the face several times during a confrontation Sunday at Hawkins' home, Washington police said. Hawkins is also accused of kicking the side of a vehicle owned by Molly Hanley of Upper St. Clair.

Window damaged: Kristen Miller of 76 W. Hallam Ave. told Washington police early Monday that a rock was thrown through the window of her home.

Drug charges: Robert K. Dyson, 32, of 195 Fourth Ave, Washington, faces charges after police found two plastic bags containing suspected marijuana in his pocket when they arrested him for a protection-from-abuse violation at May'rz Inn Bar, 165, S. Main St., in July, according to a state police report. Charges were filed Thursday with District Judge Robert Redlinger.

In a separate case, Gerard C. Glass, 49, 22. E. Prospect Ave., Washington, faces charges after police found suspected drugs in his pocket during a traffic stop in May. State police said they found vicodin and crack. Charges were filed Thursday with District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Terroristic threats: Earl Phillips, 21, of 360 McCarrell Ave., Washington, faces charges that he threatened to kill Ross Miller Jr. of Washington on Oct. 11. Miller told Washington police that Phillips said he was going to use his gun and bury Miller on his family's property in Prosperity. Charges were filed Monday with District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Accidental fire: A state police fire marshal ruled a Buffalo Township house fire in October as accidental.

The home, at 504 Rural Valley Road and owned by David and Joyce Danley, had $185,000 worth of damage, the state police report indicates.
