CANTON TOWNSHIP

Assault charge: Jesse Lee Dunfee, 26, of Washington, was arrested early Friday by state police on charges of simple assault and harassment.

Dunfee and Erica Lynn Hartzog, 23, reportedly got into an argument while they were at 20 Bel Air Drive, Belvedere Acres, about 4:30 a.m. He allegedly grabbed her by the hair, dragged her into the bedroom and choked her. He also reportedly hit her several times.

The two then fell asleep. When she awoke, Hartzog left the apartment and called police.

He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and released from Washington County Jail after posting bond.

Mirror broken: Samantha Pierson of Washington told state police Thursday that the driver's side mirror of her car was broken while it was parked at 2785 W. Chestnut St., Canton.

Window broken: Marcy Garner, 120 Rose Ave., Canton, told state police Friday that vandals broke a window in her mobile home.

CARROLL TOWNSHIP

DUI suspect jailed: Steven F. Illar, 33, of Brownsville, was arrested early Saturday by state police on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment after allegedly punching a trooper at Monongahela Valley Hospital.

Illar was under arrest for DUI. He allegedly punched the trooper when his handcuffs were removed.

Illar was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Judge Valarie Costanzo and placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond.

EAST BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP

Warrant issued: State police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of Terri Lynn Black, 49, of Waynesburg, on a charge of retail theft. She is accused of walking into Save-A-Lot in East Millsboro, East Bethlehem, on Nov. 4, putting steaks under her shirt and walking out without paying.

NORTH FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP

Son jailed in assault: George Leon Riley II, 33, of 140 Fulton St., was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday by North Franklin police for allegedly assaulting his mother.

Police were called for a mother/son dispute. The caller told police that Riley had gone out to his car to get a gun.

Riley is accused of grabbing his mother, Barbara Riley, and pushing her against the wall. He also allegedly pointed a gun at her. Police said his mother grabbed a kitchen knife to defend herself.

Riley was arraigned via video before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Assisting North Franklin police were state, Washington and East Washington police.

Driver faces charges: Richard C. Goodwill, 48, of Bridgeville, will be charged by North Franklin police with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving after he was found about 5 a.m. Saturday passed out at the wheel of his vehicle, which had crashed into trees in the 400 block of Scenic Drive. Police said he refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test.

Medication stolen: Kenneth Campbell, 815 S. Main St., told North Franklin police Wednesday that his mail order prescription medication was stolen.

Intimidation charge: A 15-year-old South Strabane Township girl will be charged by North Franklin police with harassment and intimidation of a witness after allegedly threatening a 15-year-old Amwell Township girl. The South Strabane girl is already facing assault charges for allegedly assaulting the other girl earlier at Trinity High School. The South Strabane girl is accused of threatening the other girl and spitting in her hair at the school on Thursday.

Incident at mall: A 15-year-old Canton Township girl will be charged by North Franklin police with harassment after allegedly punching a 14-year-old Canton girl in the face during a confrontation Friday at Washington Crown Center.

One injured: Shawn Datchuk of New Orleans, La., was slightly injured when his car crashed into a vehicle driven by Tammy Miller, 36, of Pittsburgh, at the ramp from Interstate 70 to West Chestnut Street, North Franklin, Friday night.

State police said Datchuk failed to observe the stop sign at the end of the ramp and hit Miller's vehicle. He will be charged with a stop sign violation.

Marijuana charge: Joshua Fuller, 20, of Washington, will be charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana after state police found him with the suspected drug during a traffic stop Thursday on Route 40 at Cleveland Road, North Franklin.

NOTTINGHAM TOWNSHIP

Dirt bikes stolen: Christine Girouard, 92 Little Mingo Road, Nottingham, told state police Friday that a green 2001 Kawasaki dirt bike and a red and black Honda CR 125 dirt bike were stolen from her home. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.

UNION TOWNSHIP

Jewelry, pills stolen: Scott Alan and Elizabeth Ann Piper, 36 Elrama Ave., Elrama, Union, told state police that jewelry and 22 pills of Percocet, a narcotic painkiller, were stolen in a burglary of their home Thursday afternoon. Anyone with information is asked to call state police in Belle Vernon at 724-929-6262.
