First Niagara Bank, which entered the Western Pennsylvania market less than a year ago with the purchase of 57 former National City Bank branches, garnered some more name recognition for itself Monday.

Live Nation, the world's largest live music company, and First Niagara announced a multiyear agreement that gives the Buffalo-based bank naming rights to the former P-G Pavilion in Burgettstown.

The pavilion's new name became effective Monday.

"As First Niagara expands here in Western Pennsylvania, we are delighted to assist in providing the people in our market with world-class entertainment," said Todd Moules, First Niagara regional president. "We are excited to partner with Live Nation to continue to bring the people of Western Pennsylvania big name concerts at First Niagara Pavilion."

First Niagara Pavilion, operated by Live Nation, has a capacity of 23,100. Some of the acts on this past summer's lineup included Coldplay, No Doubt, Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Jimmy Buffett, Nickelback, Blink 182, Rascal Flatts and Toby Keith.

"First Niagara Bank recognizes that our live music platform is a unique and powerful way to reach their customers and drive their business," said Maureen Ford, Live Nation's president of North America Sales.

In April, First Niagara purchased 57 Western Pennsylvania branches from National City Bank, which was a unit of PNC Financial Services Group.

The branches, which were converted to First Niagara operations in September, include five in Washington County: on West Beau Street in Washington, as well as in Monongahela, California, Finleyville and Houston.
