A unidentified man in a portrait found in a drawer of stuff in Charleroi, Pa.About 'The Picture Box'
Western Pennsylvania and its people have been captured on camera for 150 years. Some of those photos are too good not to be shared. This is a daily gallery from the archives of area historical societies and the O-R, and photos retrieved from boxes in basements and attics. They tell a story of who we are and how we came to be. I really wish you would stop making nasty and critical comments about the people in the photographs. It's very disrespectful and not a bit funny. How would you like it if that were a relative of yours? Enough nasty remarks about the clothing styles, hair styles, helmet hair, saddle shoes, etc. etc. and looks of the people. Styles change - that's the way life is. Enjoy the photos for the era they represent or don't post them please.
