South Hills Lincoln General Manager Jeff Innes said he came to the dealership 26 years ago because of its reputation for old-fashioned service.

It was the reputation of South Hills Lincoln that led its General Sales Manager Jeff Innes to inquire about a position.

“It’s just a well-respected and well-run dealership. We treat people the old-fashioned way,” said Innes, who joined the team in 1998. “We hand wash all of our cars that come in for service. The owner and his son are always here and ready to talk to customers about anything. It’s really a family-oriented environment.”

Innes said the Lincoln may have once been thought of as the big Town Car that targeted the older customer – but that’s not the case today.

Lincoln continues to produce luxury and SUV vehicles, but the brand now offers more for younger audiences.

“Lincoln leads with their technology and we’re drawing in a younger clientele. We’ve recently brought in the new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, and it’s selling as quickly as we can get them in. This summer, we’ll have the 2025 Lincoln Aviator and later this year, we’ll have the 2025 Navigator,” Innes said. “There are a lot of new and refreshed products coming out this year.”

There’s been plenty of talk regarding the automobile industry in recent years.

From the effects the pandemic had on the industry to the push for hybrid and electric vehicles. It keeps auto manufacturers on their toes but South Hills Lincoln has celebrated success through it all.

“Covid made it challenging to get the vehicles in but we excelled in used vehicles and have an excellent preowned business. March was the best month I’ve seen in 26 years, so it may have helped business in some ways,” Innes said.

As for hybrid and electric vehicles, plans are in the works but Innes said many, both in the industry and customers, are still playing catch up.

“Tesla owns that market; they created it. I think a lot of our customers haven’t bought into the electric vehicle yet but we do have plans for a full electric vehicle in the next couple of years,” Innes said. “It seems right now, people are going for the hybrid.”

Regardless of which car you choose, South Hills is most proud of their customer service and family-friendly atmosphere.

They have a full parts and service department, and for the first four years or 50,000 miles, new and pre-owned vehicle owners receive a pickup and delivery at no charge. If you need a repair or service to the car, they’ll drive a loner to you, bring your car back, service it, wash and return it to your driveway.

“Lincoln has done a number of things over the past 10 years to really elevate the client’s experience. All of our personnel go through hospitality training because we want to be very client focused,” Innes said. “We have a management team that have all been here well over 10 years and a strong employee retention rate. It’s good for customers because they see the same familiar face when they come back.”

Perhaps that’s why nearly 40% of their loyal customers who give the dealership a try, return to get another when they’re ready for an upgrade.
