W&J to honor alum with leadership award
Washington & Jefferson College will honor a 1986 alumnus during a luncheon at noon Wednesday at the Rivers Club in downtown Pittsburgh.
The school will present Joseph Gibson with the Maurice Cleveland Waltersdorf Award for Innovative Leadership. He is the founder and president of Gibson Stainless & Specialty Inc., a provider of stainless steel conduit and fittings located in Greensburg. The company is 19 years old and mostly serves the electrical industry.
Gibson, of Greensburg, enrolled at W&J at age 25 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
The annual award is named for Dr. Maurice C. Waltersdorf, a professor and chairman of the W&J Economics Department for 32 years.
