Iceoplex to host annual home show this weekend

Iceoplex at Southpointe, the Penguins’ second home, will host a home show this weekend.

The second annual South Hills Home Show will run Friday through Sunday at the Cecil Township facility. There will be more than 100 exhibitors, plus seminars and demonstrations on home improvement, decorating and landscaping.

Admission will be free throughout the show, which will run from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Jamie M. Blayney, office manager and director of operations for Harris Wealth Management, McMurray, has obtained her Financial Services Specialist designation, marking a person’s long-term commitment to professionalism on behalf of clients.

The designation establishes her competence and business experience and marks a commitment to the American College’s and the National Association of Insurance Financial Advisors’ code of ethics.

Prudential Preferred Realty underwent a name change Thursday, becoming Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty.

The full-service real estate brokerage is part of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network. The new company, based in Wexford, has 18 offices in Southwestern Pennsylvania, including one in Waterdam Plaza, Peters Township.

Bon-Ton Stores Inc. collected more than 2.5 million pounds in clothing and textiles to benefit Goodwill’s job-training and employment services.

Customers made the donations during the Goodwill Sale March 13-30, and have an estimated value of $10 million in revenue to fund local programs that help people find jobs and build careers.

Bon-Ton has 271 locations, including Washington Crown Center in North Franklin Township.

Canonsburg-based US Life Safety Inc. is expanding its reach.

The company’s Life-Counts network allows schools and businesses to form and operate their own emergency teams while sharing information with emergency services.

Bethel Park recently became the fourth regional school district to join that network, along with Canon-McMillan, McGuffey and Trinity. The Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball Association signed on last Tuesday.
