WesBanco to open new branch

WHEELING, W.Va. – WesBanco Inc. said this week it will build a $4 million banking center that will be a part of Southpointe II’s new Town Center project.
The new 4,000-square-foot banking center will offer all of WesBanco’s services, with three drive-in lanes including a drive-up ATM as well as an in-branch ATM. Complete business and retail lending, deposit and wealth management services will be offered through the new office.
The banking center will include a brick exterior, raised seam roof, spacious “tower” main entrance, customer-friendly floor plan and private customer sales and service areas.
The location will also provide a secure 24-hour customer self-service banking area. When the branch opens later this year, it is expected to employ up to six in retail services and as many as eight in its wealth management services area.
“This construction project confirms WesBanco’s commitment to the Western Pennsylvania market,” said Chief Executive Officer Paul M. Limbert, who noted that the bank began its banking center expansion program a number of years ago “that would allow us to capitalize on business and market opportunities.”
He said the new Southpointe location will link the bank’s Washington area locations and the 13 Pittsburgh area locations acquired in the Fidelity Bank transaction.
The Southpointe design is in keeping with recent new builds of similar construction in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
When completed, the primary design elements of Southpointe Town Center, being constructed by Southpointe-based Horizon Properties, will include Main Street and Town Square that will serve as the framework for business, retail, lodging, restaurants, a fitness center, a 120,000 square foot four-story office building and a 220-unit rental apartment complex sited on the walkable Main Street.
