Table games revenue down at Meadows

1 min read

Pennsylvania was a winner at table games in February. The Meadows Racetrack & Casino decidedly was not.

Gross revenue from the 12 casinos statewide was $57,148,223 for the month, up 3.25 percent from $55,348,241 in February 2013, according to a report this week from the state Gaming Control Board.

The casino in North Strabane Township experienced a 10.5 percent decline in year-over-year table games revenue. It fell from $1,941,422 (at 80 tables) in February 2013 to $1,735,666 (75 tables) last month.

Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, had a more precipitous dropoff of 13.7 percent. Its revenue fell from $5,947,964 (116) to $5,131,330 (113).

There were no comparative figures for Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, which opened July 1. It grossed $388,339 at 28 tables last month. Excluding that figure from last month’s statewide total meant the 11 casinos operating both Februarys still showed a 2.5 percent revenue increase.

Table games last month also generated $8,269,771 in tax revenue.

It was not a good month overall for the casinos, though. Slot machine revenue, reported earlier, declined 7.5 percent from February 2013, resulting in a combined slots-tables loss of 5 percent (from $251,293,452 to $238,326,952).

That latter figure includes revenue from Lady Luck.
