Washington & Jefferson College’s second annual Energy Lecture Series will close Wednesday with a burning issue: coal.

“A Vision for Coal” will be the topic starting at 6:30 p.m. at Yost Auditorium inside the Howard J. Burnett Center. The session will be free and open to the public, although registration is requested.

Steve Winberg, vice president of research and development at Consol Energy Inc., and Peter Balash, deputy director of the Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory, will speak on this divisive subject. They will discuss coal’s role in foreign and domestic markets, and its technological and economic impacts.
