Slots revenue up at Meadows, across state
HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania did well at the slots in August, and so did The Meadows Casino.
Slot machine play at the state’s 12 operating casinos generated $210,006,849 in gross revenue last month, according to a report on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board website (gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov) this week. That is a 2.26 percent rise from the August 2013 total of $205,374.891.
The Meadows realized a similar year-over-year increase of 2.68 percent. The North Strabane Township casino had $20,148,471 in revenue last month, up from $19,623,289 the previous August.
Seven of the 12 experienced an increase, including Rivers Casino and Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin.
Revenue at Rivers, on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, rose 5.93 percent from $23,384,080 to $24,771,383.
Lady Luck, in Fayette County, generated $2,520,357 last month, a 24 percent jump from $2,032,473 the year before.
The statewide figure rose though the average number of operating slot machines dropped by 164 this August.
