Table games revenue up in state, down 19.7 percent at Meadows
Collectively. the 12 casinos in Pennsylvania won big at the tables last month, with gross revenue up 4.6 percent from August 2013.
That decidedly was not the case at the Meadows Casino, however, according to figures released Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Table games last month raised $2,428,163 at the North Strabane Township venue, 19.7 percent below $3,024,425 in August 2013. There were 81 tables operating last month, compared with 80 a year earlier.
Statewide, August revenue was $66.439,968, a rise from $63,530,579 for the same month of 2013. There were 23 more tables operating this year than last (1,097 to 1,074).
Six casinos posted revenue increases last month, including Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. It experienced a 2.0 percent rise to $6,241,370 from $6,116,554, with 113 tables functioning both Augusts.
Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, dropped 2.5 percent year over year, from $492,789 to $480,370. There were 29 tables last month, one more than August 2013.
According to the board’s website, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov, table games generated $9.6 million in tax revenue last month.
August slot machine figures had been released earlier. Adding them to table numbers shows revenue for all casino gaming last month to be $276,446,617, an increase of 2.8 percent from $268,905,470 in August 2013.
