Millcraft building two hotels near proposed Beaver cracker plant
Millcraft Hospitality will build two hotels in Beaver County, near where Royal Dutch Shell is considering construction of an ethane cracker plant.
The company, a subsidiary of Washington-based Millcraft Investments, said in a news release it plans to bring two nationally branded hotels to the new Stoney Ridge development in Monaca, Center Township. Millcraft said its project will accompany the recently announced Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania Northern Operating and Training Facilities.
Millcraft said it recognizes the increased demand for upscale accommodations.
They will be on Route 18, about a half-mile from Interstate 376 and close to Beaver Valley Mall. Potter Township, where Shell may build the cracker, also is in the vicinity.
Financing is under way on the hotels, which will be on a 5.5-acre parcel. Phase I of construction will feature an extended-stay facility of about 100 rooms, all suites, followed by a an upscale hotel of about 140 rooms.
