MEI to break ground for expansion in Houston

McCutcheon Enterprises Inc. will hold groundbreaking ceremonies for local dignitaries, its clients and the general public at 4 p.m. Wednesday for its the expansion of its Houston location at 23 W. Pike St.

MEI, founded in 1947, is based in Apollo, where it operates a 58,000 square-foot treatment facility that can handle solid, semisolid and liquid wastes from a range of industries.

It opened the Houston operation in 2013, where it operates a hydraulic center for hoses, parts and repairs and has a rental/sales center for a variety of equipment used on industrial sites. The company is expanding from one building to two, plus adding a rental equipment staging lot.

Charleroi-based General Industries is the contractor for the project.
