Time change for W&J Energy Series opener
The time for the kickoff session of the W&J Energy Lecture Series has changed. “Today’s Grid: A System Under Pressure” will begin at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10, a half-hour earlier than originally scheduled.
Gregory Reed and John A. Swanson will speak at the initial installment of the fourth annual series, which will be called Grid Academy and follow the theme “modernization of the energy grid.” Reed is director of the Center for Energy, director of the Electric Power Initiative and a professor at the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering. Swanson is founder and retired chief technologist at Ansys Inc.
Three other sessions are planned for the school year.
The series is organized by Washington & Jefferson College’s Center for Energy Policy and Management, directed by Diana Stares. All programs will be in Yost Auditorium in the Burnett Center on W&J’s campus. All are free and open to the public, and although registration is not required, it is recommended.
