Rice has picnic today at fairgrounds

1 min read

Rice Energy will hold its annual Marcellus Mania picnic, free and open to the public, from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Chartiers Township.

“It’s our way of giving back to the community, showing that we care,” said Kimberly Price, community relations director for Rice. She said the event will take place in the grassy area reserved for parking during the annual county Agricultural Fair. Food and children’s games and activities will be included.

Price announced that Rice has raised more than $600,000 this year for local fire departments and other emergency responders, and will distribute the funds in a few weeks. They will go to 31 units that operate in the three counties where Rice has oil and natural gas operations: Washington, Greene and Belmont (Ohio).
