Outage knocks out 400 Meadows’ slots

A power outage early Sunday knocked out about 400 of the 3,100 slot machines in operation at The Meadows Casino for about six hours.
Meadows spokesman Tom Meinert said Monday the outage, which occurred around 5:30 a.m. outside of the North Strabane Township casino, also disabled security cameras inside the gaming area.
That caused casino personnel to hand-pay patrons who were sitting at the affected slot machines, Meinert said.
He said the outage lasted until about 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
While the number of customers in the casino at the time of the outage was unknown, Meinert said most of those who were owed money were paid.
“If there are any other guests who feel they haven’t been reimbursed, they should contact the casino,” Meinert said.
He said that as of Monday, the origin and location of the outage hadn’t been determined.
