Table games up in state and down at Meadows last month
Table games play at Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos last month generated $68,187,957 in gross revenue, up 6.68 percent from $63,916,997 the previous February, according to figures released Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
The Meadows Racetrack & Casino, however, did not fare nearly as well. It experienced an 8.39 percent decline, from $2,867,761 in February 2015 to $2,627,269 last month, according to gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov.
Despite that, however, the North Strabane Township casino had a strong February overall. Thanks to a 16.91 percent increase in slots revenue year over year, The Meadows posted a 13.08 percent gain in total gambling revenue last month – $21,428,128 compared with $18,948,730 in February 2015. That was the fourth-highest overall increase statewide.
The 12 casinos, overall, generated $268,354,231 in February, an 8.59 jump from February 2015 ($247,120,040).
Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh posted losses in both categories. Its $5,564,370 in table games revenue last month was down 11.57 percent from the previous February ($6,292,536), and its total revenue fell 0.62 percent, from $28,757,661 in February 2015 to $28,579,235 last month.
Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, generated $517,343 in table games play last month, a 2.51 percent rise from $504,667 the previous year. Total revenue there was $2,712,848 in February, up 6.75 percent ($2,541,389) over the year.
