Slot revenue rises at Meadows, in state
HARRISBURG – Gross revenue generated from slot machines play at Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos in September rose 2.43 percent over the year, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported Tuesday.
Revenue last month totaled $192,150,329.51, compared with $187,599,887.92 in September 2015. Tax revenue last month was $102,584,018.
Eight casinos experienced increases, including The Meadows in North Strabane Township, which generated $18,001,682.59, a 2.61 percent jump from September 2015.
The other two gaming sites in the region posted decreases – though marginal. Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Side, fell 0.54 percent from $20,992,576.46 in September 2015 to $20,878,476.49 last month. Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, had $2,501,164.50 in revenue last month, a 0.42 percent drop from $2,511,724.60 the previous September.
The average number of slot machines operating throughout the Commonwealth was 26,632 in September, compared with 26,229 a year earlier.
