WEDnetPA grants awarded to area employers
HARRISBURG – Three Washington County companies will share in grant money awarded Wednesday to help train workers.
According to a news release from state Rep. Jason Ortitay, R-South Fayette, almost $47,000 in Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania grants were awarded to three companies in the 46th Legislative District.
The grants were awarded to Universal Electric Corp. and Accutrex Products Inc., both in Cecil Township, and Ferro Corp. in Washington to provide training to their employees. WEDnetPA is a network of 26 community colleges, Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education universities and other partners that provide expert support to businesses to help assess training needs, develop training plans and apply for funding. Grants are provided thorugh the PA First Fund.
“Businesses can only be successful when their employees are properly trained to do their jobs,” Ortitay said. “This grant funding will help three local businesses succeed and thrive.”
