ANSYS Acquires N.C. company
CANONSBURG — Southpointe-based ANSYS Inc., a global provider of engineering simulation software, siad Tuesday it has acquired Apex, N.C.-based Computational Engineering International Inc., the developer of a suite of products that helps engineers and scientists analyze, visualize and communicate simulation data.
Terms of the deal, which closed earlier this month, were not disclosed.
CEI has 28 employees and more than 750 customers around the world. Its flagship product, EnSight, is the premier solution for analyzing, visualizing and communicating simulation data.

CEI President Anders Grimsrud said his company had worked with ANSYS informally for years.
