Meadows Racing partnering with Pittsburgh Penguins
The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association Wednesday announced a major partnership agreement with the Pittsburgh Penguins for the 2017-18 season.
According to a news release from MSOA, millions of people will now see new Meadows Racing signage throughout the PPG Paints Arena including dasherboards, LED ribbon boards and digital advertising, promoting live harness racing to hockey fans across Western Pennsylvania.
MSOA is a nonprofit, trade association of owners, trainers and drivers of Standardbred horses racing at The Meadows.
Incorporated in 1977, MSOA promotes the sport of harness racing and the interests of its members as horsemen.
MSOA Executive Director Kim Hankins said the new endeavor with the Penguins represents the association’s ongoing investment to optimize brand recognition with Pittsburgh sports fans who crave an action-packed event.
“Meadows Racing really is the fourth major Pittsburgh sports team,” Hankins said. “Just like hockey games, we’re exciting and we provide fun for the entire family. We welcome Pens fans to watch and wager on our live races.”
Live harness racing at The Meadows racetrack begins at 1 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
