State casinos raise monthly gaming revenue record $300M

The state’s 12 casinos generated more than $300 million in total gaming revenue in March, a single-month record, according to a report Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Revenue totaled $300,516,011, a 3.8 percent increase from $289,529,578 in March 2017. The March figure exceeded the previous record of $296,718,018 in March 2013.

The Gaming Control Board, which had previously reported slot machine revenue for March, also released table games revenue for the month in the Tuesday advisory.

Table games brought in $79,165,791, a less than 1 percent decrease from $79,545,431 the previous March. Slots play generated $221,350,220 in revenue last month.

The Meadows Casino played a role in the record-setting month, bringing in $23,442,457 in total revenue, a 4.07 percent hike from $22,525,980 in March 2017. The North Strabane Township facility had $3,640,443 in table revenue, a 10.61 percent bump up from $3,291,110 a year earlier.

Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Side, had $33,546,172 in total gaming revenue, an 11.08 percent jump from $30,199,493 in March 2017. Rivers had $6,950,173 in table revenue, a 17.85 percent increase from $5,899,056.

Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, jumped 17.7 percent in table games ($499,751 from $424,608) and 2.31 percent overall ($3,236,628 from $3,163,607).

Statewide, March table games play raised $12,743,065 in total tax revenue. An average of 1,268 tables were in operation daily.
