Firm out to sell Shop ‘n Saves in St. Louis, not in Western Pa.
A spokeswoman for SuperValu said Tuesday the Minnesota-based company announced in a news release it is pursuing the sale of corporately owned and operated Shop ‘n Savestores in the St. Louis area and 21 stores it purchased from Food Lion in 2016.
She added, however, that the decision will not affect 90 Shop ‘n Save stores in Western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland. These stores, the spokeswoman said, license the Shop ‘n Save name and are supplied by SuperValu’s Wholesale division, but are independently owned and operated.
