Gas prices dip in Washington, hold steady across region
Gasoline prices in Western Pennsylvania increased exactly one cent this week, lifting the average of a gallon of unleaded self-serve is $3.113, according to a report Monday from AAA East Central. That figure is 24.1 cents higher than it was a year ago, at $2.872.
Washington’s price dropped 1.8 cents to $3.093, 2.0 cents below the regional average.
Prices dropped slightly or stayed about the same throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region.
Gasoline inventory levels stayed at about 64 million barrels, according to the latest Energy Information Administration’s data.
The average price nationally is $2.86, a one-cent decrease.
Washington’s price of $3.111 is the ninth lowest among 22 Western Pennsylvania cities and towns listed by AAA. Sharon’s average price of $3.029 was the lowest, followed by Altoona ($3.037) and Uniontown ($3.060). Jeannette and Kittanning shared the highest at ($3.210).
