Cal U. assists would-be transfers
California University of Pennsylvania will have a Destination Day Aug. 3 for college students considering a transfer to Cal U. It will be in Room 312, Dixon Hall, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Phone appointments are available as well.
The Destination Days program eases the transfer process. All services are free, including transcript evaluation, information and support and scheduling of orientation. Cal U. will waive the application fee for those who apply on Aug. 3.

Law firm expanding to Southpointe
A Cranberry Township-based law firm is expanding into Washington County. Lynch Law Group LLC expects to open an office in Southpointe Aug. 1.
Lynch Law has 16 attorneys and has a branch on the South Side of Pittsburgh. The Southpointe office initially will have five attorneys, a paralegal and an administrator, Charles Hadad. There is room to eventually have 10 lawyers.

Business women plan meeting
The July 25 meeting of the Women’s Business Network – Washington Chapter is open to women who own businesses and other professional women. The chapter meets at 8:30 a.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at 8:30 a.m. at Panera Bread, 108 Trinity Point Drive, South Strabane Township.
Each chapter is category exclusive, so once a business category is filled, it is closed. Openings in this chapter include: Printer, Chiropractor, Kitchenware, Attorney, Nutrition, Senior Services, Hair Salon, Accountant and Massage Therapist.

Career fair planned for inmates
The State Correctional Institution at Fayette, located in LaBelle, will have a career and reentry fair July 18 for inmates scheduled to be released within 12 months.
The fair, at the facility at 50 Overlook Drive, will be conducted in two sessions: 8:30 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Representatives of organizations will be on hand to meet with inmates to assist in their transition. Greene County CareerLink is expected to participate along with Veterans Coordinator, Triangle Tech and HOPE Aftercare.
