Table games revenue falls at Meadows, across state
Revenue from table games play at the state’s 12 casinos last month declined 6.19 percent from the previous April, according to figures released Tuesday on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board website.
Meadows Casino experienced a similar dip.
The casinos collectively generated nearly $5 million less in revenue last month than they did in April 2017, falling to $74,667,615 from $79,596,706. Revenue at The Meadows, in North Strabane Township, dropped by more than $300,000 over the year, to $4,028,461 from $4,341,276 the previous April.
Eight of the gaming sites experienced declines, including Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Fayette County, where revenue dropped 21.95 percent over the year, to $214,833 from $275,234. Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, however, posted a 10.28 percent gain, to $6,473,507 from $5,870,257.
Total gaming revenue for April declined only 1.56 percent, thanks to an increase in slot machine revenue, which the PGCB reported earlier. Total revenue fell to $280,846,142 from $285,299,458 in April 2017. The Meadows (8.15 percent) and Nemacolin (11.76) posted declines in the slots, while Rivers had a 5.53 percent gain.
The control board reported that $12,033,322 in tax revenue was generated by tables play last month, with an average of 1,265 tables operating daily.
