Business notebook: PNC Bank drive-up in city to close June 15
The PNC Bank drive-up location on East Beau Street in Washington will permanently close June 15, according to signs posted on the building.
This is not a full-service branch, but one which features a drive-up window, an automated teller machine and access to a lobby. There were no employees on site late Friday morning.
PNC Bank has one location in the city, a full-service branch at 201 Jefferson Ave. There also is a branch at Strabane Square shopping center in South Strabane Township.
AHN raising minimum wage
Officials of Allegheny Health Network announced Friday they plan to increase the minimum wage for employees to $15 an hour by 2021.
AHN employs about 19,000 health-care professionals at its eight hospitals, four health-and-wellness pavilions and hundreds of additional care sites in Western Pennsylvania. Canonsburg Hospital is among its facilities.
Melissa Ferraro, senior vice president for human resources, said in a prepared statement: “Allegheny Health Network has transformed itself into a financially strong, market-leading provider of advanced medical care and we are excited to reward our talented and dedicated employees for the critical roles they play in our success and for the exceptional care and services they provide to our patients and the community.”
AHN offers employees benefits that include health insurance options, a 401K, and tuition assistance.
Grant applications sought
The state Department of Environmental Protection is accepting grant applications to replace, repower or retrofit fleet diesel-powered trucks, buses and other vehicles and equipment.
It is part of the Pennsylvania State Clean Diesel Grant program. Some funding will come from the $118 million settlement from Volkswagen.
Public and private entities are eligible for the grants, including school districts, local governments and nonprofits.

Family Dollar store reopening
The Family Dollar store in Canonsburg will have a grand reopening Thursday, followed by a community celebration next Saturday that will include giveaways and prizes. The first 50 customers that day will get a Family Dollar gift card.
The store, at 594 West Pike St., is open daily.
LPN program lauded
Greene County Career & Technology Center has the No. 6 licensed practical nurse program in Pennsylvania, according to annual state rankings by PracticalNursing.org. Community colleges, technical centers and private career schools offer these approved programs. The website lists 52 such schools statewide.
