Steel Nation heading to Southpointe
Steel Nation is heading north to Southpointe.
The company, which provides solutions for oil and gas construction projects throughout the Marcellus, Utica and other North American shale plays, will relocate to the mixed-use park next month, according to a news release it issued this week. It cited the firm’s growth and location of the Cecil Township park as reasons to move.
Steel Nation, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, has operated along Washington Road in South Strabane Township, slightly south of Racetrack Road.
Steel Nation Holdings Inc., Steel Nation Buildings Inc. and Steel Nation Engineering Inc. will operate in a 10,000-square-foot facility at 100 Southpointe Square Lane. The company employs about 35.
President Mark D. Caskey said, “Southpointe is an ideal location for Steel Nation and its customers. Since the development of the Marcellus and Utica shales, Southpointe has attracted a variety of natural gas producers, trade associations and other related service industry companies. Moving to Southpointe puts Steel Nation right in the mix.”
Mark Dooley, executive vice president and chief financial officer, said, “We needed a larger facility to house our growing team. Now, we’ll have our construction, engineering and facility services all under one roof.”
