Washington County officials and other dignitaries officially opened the Avella Wellness Center on Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, launching the drop-in wellness center designed to serve rural communities and reduce barriers to accessing quality care. The center at 9 Campbell St. in Avella will offer wrap-around services through the Washington County Department of Human Services, providing residents with streamlined access to a full range of county programs alongside primary care providers and community partners. While the Avella site will serve as a pilot program, there are plans to expand this model and its services to additional areas, including the Mon Valley, in the coming years.
