Range Resources’ women’s employee resource group, Range Energy Network of Women, was founded in 2020, just before the pandemic. Originally founded to support women as they navigate career challenges, the group’s mission evolved to uplift and empower women while also strengthening the community.

In an era of virtual meetings, RENEW brought its members together to talk about mental health, breast cancer awareness and professional development. As life returned to a familiar cadence, the group built on that momentum with interactive opportunities.

Soon, RENEW created opportunities for women to have a seat at “the table,” including a Lunch with Leadership event that gave members dedicated time to network and interact with senior leadership in both Pennsylvania and Texas.

To further facilitate networking for members who might not need to travel between offices, RENEW established a member exchange program in 2023 to bridge that gap. These efforts grew into new friendships and a deeper appreciation for the cultures of the Pennsylvania and Texas locations.

Alongside that traction, another pillar of the group emerged with a philanthropic partnership. From 2022 through 2025, Pennsylvania RENEW members, along with several male colleagues inspired by their efforts, dedicated time to renovating the Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA safe house in Washington.

This partnership helped the group create and complete a multi-year plan to make the safe house a peaceful home for those fleeing violence, while Range’s volunteers built lasting relationships through volunteer work.

These initiatives grew further as members continued to dedicate time and support to organizations like Dress for Success, helping not only volunteer at annual events like the Fill-A-Bag sale and donation drives, but also to partner with the Power of Her event held at Range, which provides for a day full of education, service, reflection, and empowerment for high school girls.

Each fall, RENEW members attend a virtual meeting with Komen, a nonprofit organization that builds awareness, supports research and helps families and patients with breast cancer. Texas office employees participate in the Komen walk to raise funds and awareness for the disease affecting one in eight women.

Recently, RENEW collaborated with Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh, helping donate items to families facing difficult life circumstances. RENEW has also supported the Women’s Energy Network, a professional association offering networking, leadership development, and career support.

Between event sponsorships, clothing drives, supply drives and volunteer hours, the group’s mission has naturally grown to incorporate a theme of women helping women.

Range is proud to sponsor All for Her and have RENEW members attend the events, which inspire attendees to build confidence while networking and supporting women-owned businesses.

Melissa Shaughnessy, chair of RENEW, said these aspects of the group strengthen not only its members but also the community.

“When women lift one another up through generosity and service, we don’t just change lives — we strengthen our communities, create opportunities and inspire a lasting legacy of compassion,” Shaughnessy said. “Being part of a company like Range Resources, which encourages and supports our commitment to giving back, is an added benefit to an already strong and supportive work family. It’s meaningful to work alongside people who believe that making a difference extends beyond the workplace and into the communities we call home.”

RENEW’s impact extends beyond the office. What started as a way to connect women at Range has become a lasting commitment to lifting its community and creating lasting impact.
