A recently announced contribution from an anonymous donor has enabled the Washington County Community Foundation to offset all credit card processing fees for its annual WCCF Gives campaign.

The nonprofit organization has hosted WCCF Gives since 2013 in support of a range of local groups and charitable initiatives.

And although WCCF itself does not change participating organizations any fees to get involved, credit card companies levy their own processing fees on each translation, according to a release from the WCCF.

The anonymous donor’s gift will cover these costs so that participating charities can receive the full value of each contribution made through WCCF Gives.

Credit card donors will still have the option to cover the processing fee at checkout. Donors who choose to do so will help extend the impact of this anonymous gift, according to the release.

The WCCF will offer an additional $100,000 beyond the usual $100,000 prize pool for participating charities in celebration of the foundation’s 30th anniversary this year.

This new “Power Boost” prize structure is available only for charities that record at least 20 unique donors and/or raise at least $1,500 through the campaign.

“Our local charities take on the hard, necessary work that keeps Washington County strong. WCCF Gives is a chance to make every gift go further,” WCCF President and CEO Aliesha Walz said in a statement. “Since one of our generous donors is covering the online processing fees, the amount you give is the amount your designated charities will receive. Please join your neighbors in supporting the wonderful causes that make this community so vibrant. Give through WCCF Gives.”

Online contributions for WCCF Gives will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at wccfgives.org. Donations made by check must be postmarked by Sept. 10. The minimum gift is $25. Full details on the campaign are available online at wccfgives.org.
