Hundreds of area residents attended a three-day event last month at the Greenery Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing that spotlighted the just-opened Evergreen Rehabilitation Unit.
The Greenery Center, a 140-bed skilled nursing facility next to Canonsburg Hospital on Route 519, celebrated with an open house and carnival that included caricatures, hors d’oeuvres, a magic show, music and wine. Carnival day included face painting, a duck pond, bouncy house, games, balloon artist, food and cotton candy. County Commissioner Diana Irey Vaughan assisted with the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Evergreen Rehabilitation Unit has 22 beds, six private suites and eight semi-private rooms. A state-of-the-art therapy gym features an ADL suite equipped with a full kitchen, bathroom with shower, bedroom and kitchen table. Patients can master activities of daily living prior to returning home.
The Greenery Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing offers a staff of highly-trained nurses, physicians and therapists to guide patients through every step of their rehabilitation journey. It offers short term, long term, palliative and respite stays with a mission of creating a home where patients, employees and the community form relationships that honor individuality, integrity, personal choice and service to each other.
