Chartiers Township Microtel construction ahead of schedule
The Microtel hotel being built – assembled? – in Chartiers Township may be completed sooner than anticipated.
“I’m not a ‘count your chickens’ type of person, but it may open in August,” said Tejas Gosai, one of four partners of the 80-room, extended-stay Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham facility.
Gosai originally estimated a late 2013 opening.
The hotel is under construction near a BP gasoline station off Racetrack Road, just west of the Interstate 79 overpass. It will be on 2 1/2 acres of a 4-acre tract near the I-79 exit ramp.
This Microtel will consist of a number of modular structures, built in Michigan and transported here, that will be put together to form the hotel. The rooms will be simple and offer few amenities to keep down the price.
“It’s like Legos being stacked up,” said Gosai, who is partners with his father, Kam, Perry Monpara and Sujay Patel.
The Gosais also are building a Studio 6 motel off the Houston/Route 519 exit of I-79 – near another BP station and the headquarters building of Nello Construction.
Those two I-79 facilities will double Tejas Gosai’s hotel interests. He also is the owner/manager of the Best Western Garden Inn and Holiday Inn Express in Bentleyville.
You can shop for almost anything at Tanger Outlets – including a job.
Tanger will have its semiannual job fair from noon to 7 p.m. May 23. Several stores will set up tables outside their doors to recruit for management positions and full-time, part-time or seasonal sales associate jobs.
Candidates can speak with recruiting managers and submit applications, and could be selected for interviews on the spot at the South Strabane Township shopping complex.
“We host this job fair twice a year to get ready for our busiest seasons: summer and holidays,” Jodi Dague, Tanger general manager, said in a statement. “It’s great to be able to offer employment with such amazing, well-known companies right in Washington County.”
