Astronomers to host star party at Mingo
The Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will hold a free star party at 7 p.m. April 19 and 20 at Mingo Creek Park Observatory in Washington.
The party will be held rain or shine. The planetarium schedule includes sky shows at 7 and 9, an introduction to amateur astronomy at 8 and a tour of the International Space Station at 10.
Those who attend can view double stars, planetary nebulae, star clusters, distant galaxies, Saturn and its rings and Jupiter and four of its moons through the group’s 24-inch Ritchey-Chretien Reflector and 10-inch Refractor telescopes.
